Oliver is an international business lawyer with over 26 years’ experience working in finance, energy and commodities.
He has worked in the house legal departments of BP (Integrated Supply & Trading), RWE Supply & Trading, Morgan Stanley and Castleton Commodities International (CCI). At Morgan Stanley, RWE and CCI, he occupied head of legal positions.
Oliver advises on a diverse range of midstream and downstream supply and trading matters and projects spanning oil, LNG, gas, power, coal, metals and renewables. As well as having worked on a wide range of day to day energy and commodity trading issues (non-contentious and contentious), Oliver has widespread experience of acquisitions & disposals, trade and commodity finance, joint ventures, cooperation agreements, structured transactions, bilateral physical and financial trading, shipping, GTC and tender reviews and regulatory matters.
In November 2017, Oliver left CCI and founded Provenance Legal Limited, a legal consultancy. Oliver joined LXL as a senior consultant in December 2019.
As a former in-house counsel, Oliver is ideally positioned to advise on a multitude of different legal issues affecting companies involved in the ownership, supply and trading of energy, commodities and related assets.
